ONE BEAD AT A TIME

In Bead Impact Art, one bead is threaded onto the needle and fixed to the Carrier at a time.

This is an established rule of the method rather than a decision made anew with every act. The Acting Person does not decide whether to take two, three, or several beads at once. One act is materially fixed through one bead.

This removes an additional compositional decision from the act. The choice remains in the purpose of the action, the bead itself, its placement, the Carrier, and whether the action will continue.

The rule also preserves the technical independence of every act. When several beads are threaded and fixed together, their distance, alignment, tension, and relation must be determined as a group. The beads begin to function as a predetermined arrangement rather than as separate acts.

When each bead is fixed separately, every new act receives its own position in relation to the beads and actions already present on the Carrier. It does not enter as part of a predetermined group. It enters as a distinct act within a Carrier already changed by what came before.

Each bead therefore remains materially distinct while also entering into relation with the other acts within the Unit.

This makes accumulation, density, layering, interruption, and continuation possible without requiring the construction of a predetermined pattern. The action can continue bead by bead, while every new act remains distinct and finds its own place in relation to what already exists.
