How the material action is physically performed.

ONE BEAD AT A TIME

The Bead Impact Art Technique begins with one bead.

Only one bead is taken at a time. It is threaded and fixed separately by hand. If the action continues, the next bead is taken and fixed only after the previous bead has been fixed.

This rule remains unchanged whether the work consists of one bead, spreads across the Carrier as a Field, or accumulates vertically into a Stack.

One Bead at a Time is the fundamental technical rule of the Bead Impact Art Technique.

The action may stop after one bead or continue through further acts. As it continues, the work may remain minimal, spread across the Carrier, or accumulate into vertical material formations.

The technique therefore allows the work to develop from a single point into a field or into a stack.

Its structure remains the same throughout: each bead enters separately through an individual act.

ONE BEAD

The smallest expression of the technique is one bead.

One bead may be enough. The action may begin and end there.

Even in its smallest form, the technique is complete: one bead has been fixed through one act.

FIELD

As the action continues, beads may spread across the Carrier and remain individually visible.

They may appear at separate points, form loose relations, or gradually build a larger material field.

A field is not made all at once. It is formed bead by bead, through the continuation of individual acts.

STACK

The technique may also develop vertically.

As the action continues, beads may accumulate upon one another, forming density, height, and volume.

A stack is built one bead at a time. Even when the accumulation becomes dense and mound-like, it remains the result of separate acts.

The visible mass is not a single gesture. It is the consequence of continued fixation, one bead after another.

FROM POINT TO ACCUMULATION

The Bead Impact Art Technique may therefore move through different material conditions:

One bead.
Field.
Stack.

These are not different techniques, but different developments of the same technique.

The principle does not change: one bead at a time.

RELATION TO THE UNIT METHOD

The Bead Impact Art Technique describes how the bead is physically fixed.

The Unit Method describes how a Unit comes into being.

The technique may be learned and performed as a material technique. Its use alone does not automatically constitute a Unit.

A Unit comes into being when the act is performed within the conditions of the Codex and The Unit Method.

One bead.
One act.
