To Unite People Through One Shared Unit and Make Interdependence Visible

SHARED UNIT — KONSTRUNDA KUNGSÄNGEN is a participatory Bead Impact Art project in which fifteen people created one Shared Unit through distinct individual acts.

The purpose of the Community Door is not only to collect many contributions. It is to unite different people within one shared Carrier and one material field while preserving the distinctness of each person’s act.

During Konstrunda in Kungsängen, visitors entered the same Carrier through their own actions.

Each participant decided which bead or beads to use, where to place them, and how much to add. There was no predetermined composition that participants were required to reproduce.

Each act remained materially distinct, while every new act changed the condition of the Carrier for the person who acted next.

A place could already be occupied. A relation, direction, density, or colour could already exist. Each new participant therefore acted within conditions created partly by the people who came before.

The participants acted independently, but their actions remained together within one Carrier.

One shared Carrier united them.

One person’s action changed the field encountered by another.

The resulting Shared Unit does not represent a group from the outside. It contains the actual actions of fifteen different people and makes their material interdependence visible.

Each contribution remains individual, while all fifteen become part of one shared material history.

The project realises the principle of IV. Community within The Seven Doors: many distinct people, one shared Carrier, one Shared Unit, and one material field changed by every action within it.

Different identities and different decisions do not have to disappear in order for something common to be created.

Community makes that common field materially real.
