SILENCE I

The purpose of this Unit is to establish silence as a condition in which light can be revealed and presence can remain.

Silence is not emptiness. It is a condition of attention.

In this Unit, one bead is fixed to a Carrier whose painted condition remains otherwise unchanged. The image does not develop and nothing is added to explain the Unit. Yet a real act has occurred, and the bead receives light.

SILENCE I is the first Unit in the SILENCE series. Each Unit is complete in itself, yet all three are connected by one principle: one bead fixed to the Carrier through one precise human act. The act remains distinct; only the position changes from one Unit to another.

In SILENCE I, the condition is established. The Carrier remains visually still, the bead remains precise, and the act remains.

SILENCE I creates the possibility of returning to oneself. As attention stops dispersing, a deeper inner connection may begin to emerge, allowing what was previously unheard or unnoticed to become perceptible.

The purpose is not depicted as an image. It is fulfilled through one bead, one position, and one material act. Presence opens through the act and remains within the stillness of the Unit.

This Unit opens the first movement of the series—the moment when one act changes the Carrier and establishes the condition in which light can be revealed.

Silence is not shown. It is held through the Unit.
